Declined somewhere else
Declined because your company is owned by a holding company?
Ownership through holding companies, in the UK or abroad, sits inside our criteria — as long as we can trace it to the people at the end.
Why it happens
Each extra company between yours and its owners is another set of records to check. A model scores the layers as risk; a person can just follow them.
What we look at, and what to have ready
What a person looks at
- Every company between yours and the people who ultimately own it
- Who those people are, and that we can verify them
- That the structure has a clear business purpose
What to have ready
- An ownership chart, from your company up to the people who own it
- Registration details for each holding company
- ID for anyone who owns 25% or more, directly or through the chain
This is how our published criteria treat it, not a decision about your company. A person decides, within five working days of a complete application. We’re not open for applications yet.
